Jeff Kennedy
Jeff Kennedy is a Level III Certified
Instructor, and is an Examiner with the Professional Ski Instructors of America-Central
Division
Alpine Education
Staff. Jeff is also a United States Ski Coaches Association, Club Coach. He
is currently a staff trainer and Director of Children’s Programs at Afton
Alps Ski Area, and has been teaching skiing for more than 20 years. Jeff has
been a member of SKI Magazine’s SKIwee National Clinic Team since 1988.
He has extensive ski industry experience serving as a retail shop manager,
Children’s Program Supervisor, Ski School Director, and Ski Area General
Manager. Jeff has been nominated three times - and in both 2003 and 2004 was named as one of SKI Magazine's Top 100 Instructors in North America. He is the author of KIDology's Games References for skiing and snowboard instructors as well as park & rec staff.
Grant Nakamura
Grant Nakamura, M.D. is a Level III Certified instructor, a member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America-Northern Rocky Mountain Alpine Education Staff, and a former member of the PSIA National Junior Education Team. Grant is also a United States Ski Coaches Association, Club Coach. He has been a member of SKI Magazine’s SKIwee/MINIrider National Clinic Team since 1992, serving as the Assistant Technical Director and Regional Manager of SKIwee from 1996-1998. Grant is a ski and snowboard instructor, and staff trainer for the Buck Hill Ski School. Dr. Nakamura is also an Emergency Services Physician.
Tom Schulz
Tom Schulz is a Level III Certified Ski Instructor, and a United States Ski Coaches Association, Club Coach. He has been involved with ski instruction since 1987, and has been a staff trainer for several ski schools in Minnesota. Tom was the Director at Buena Vista Ski Area, and is currently the Ski School Director at Buck Hill Ski Area, a position he has held since 1994. He has been a member of SKI Magazine’s SKIwee National Clinic Team, and has been on the Professional Ski Instructors of America-Central Division Board of Directors; also serving as the Ski School Director Committee Chairperson. Tom is a personal and professional coach, receiving his training from the Coaches Training Institute in 1999.
Lisa Maurer
Lisa Maurer received her Level I Ski Instructor Certification in 1992, and has been teaching skiing for over 15 years. She has been involved as a ski racing coach since 1996, and is currently the Head Coach of the Buck Hill Development Team. Lisa is a former chairperson of the Minnesota Recreation and Parks Association. She is a former chairperson of the MRPA Summer Leadership Conference. Lisa was recently nominated as one of the “10 Outstanding Young Minnesotans.” She is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Recreation, Park and Leisure Studies with a minor in Outdoor Education.
