The Children’s Skiing Games Reference has been designed as a tool for ski instructors, to help them teach children to ski. It has been created to be of assistance in filling your bagof- tricks. The games referenced here have come from a variety of sources, some of which have absolutely nothing to do with skiing! They have all been adapted and tried on real children, and I assure you that no kids were harmed in the making of this book.

The book is approximately 4-1/4” x 5-1/2” spiral bound, and 120 pages. It contains over 100 games.

The book is generally set up by ability level – beginner to advanced. Each of the games includes icons to represent the best use of the game. The icons represent Movement Pools (Critical Features of Skiing), Skill
Development, Age Group, and Terrain selection.

For example, in the “Lines and Smears” game shown here, the primary movement pool is to release and engage the edges with the legs, the primary skill used is edging, this game is for older children and is done on more difficult terrain.

There are four separate indexes at the back of the text to assist in looking up games by each of the categories: Movement Pool, Skill Development, Age Group and Terrain Type.

For example, you might want to reference games that work on edge control skills, etc. Color is used throughout the book, including each of the indexes, to identify different ability levels.
